Dental Implants
Are you missing teeth and looking for a permanent dentistry solution you can count on? Implants are inserted into the jawbone and act as artificial tooth roots, providing a solid foundation for a crown, denture, or bridge to attach to. Dr. Wolbaum has extensive implant knowledge and expertise and is a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, one of the most prestigious organizations for implant dentists.
Dental Crowns
A crown, also referred to as a cap, is used to completely cover a damaged tooth, typically the result of a large cavity or injury. This provides extra strength and reinforcement, allowing the tooth to chew and function like normal. In addition to strengthening the tooth, a crown dramatically improves its shape and appearance and is commonly used in cosmetic dentistry, as well.
Root Canal
A root canal is needed when tooth decay or infection reaches the center of the tooth, known as the pulp. This can cause painful symptoms such as a toothache or swelling, but sometimes no symptoms are present. We use digital x-rays to determine if a root canal is needed and use the gentlest techniques to ensure a virtually painless procedure. After a root canal has healed, patients may need a dental crown to strengthen the tooth.
Dental Bridges
If you're missing one or more consecutive teeth, a dental bridge can fill in the gaps and significantly improve functionality. Our dentist offers implant-supported bridges for patients who want additional support and reassurance without worrying about a dental bridge becoming loose. Implant-supported bridges are typically more comfortable and last longer than traditional bridges.
Dentures
Our Aurora practice offers three types of dentures: partial, full, or implant-supported. If you're missing one or both arches, we can create a custom-fitted denture that will give you the ability to speak and smile without concern. Implant-supported dentures provide unbeatable stability without having to worry about removing them when you're eating, as with traditional dentures.
Inlays and Onlays
In some cases, a cavity may be too large to be restored with a simple filling. Inlays and onlays are typically used on the back teeth to address cracks or decay. They are fitted to a cavity and held in place using a special dental adhesive. Inlays are used on the surface of the tooth, while onlays extend to replace one or both cusps. Our dentist uses restorative materials such as porcelain to mimic the appearance of natural teeth.
